A passionate belief in the necessity for widespread public acceptance of water conservation as a fact of life drives Sally Dominguez to continuously design and invent simple, effective solutions which address the global need for smarter, multi-purpose, sustainable building products. The HOG tank was designed by Sally in 2005 and first shown on the Australian New Inventors TV program in prototype form. Ten years later HOG is manufactured in Australia, the USA and Mexico and sold across the world for rainwater harvesting, emergency water storage and portable potable water uses. HOG designer Sally Dominguez has won seven international design awards for her innovative, sustainable products. With ten years in sole architectural practice, 6 years judging sustainable design and materials on ABC TVs New Inventors, and 5 years judging Car of the Year awards with a focus on design and sustainable drivetrains, Sally has a unique, detailed perspective on sustainable and innovative products, environments and technologies. In 2000 Dominguez formed Bug Design and won an Australian DesignMark and an Institute of Design award for her ground-breaking NEST highchair—now held in the Powerhouse Museum Permanent Collection. Her HOG design has won a Spark Award, the Eco Products award from California Home Design, was named in 2008s Top 10 Sustainable Building Products by Sustainable Industries, was runner up for the 2009 ImagineH2O awards and has won eco awards in Canada and Japan. Dominguez is the architect of the Creative Thinking FIVE WAYS strategy which she has delivered to organizations in Australia, the USA and China.
