Montana Woodworks® is an environmentally friendly log furniture and rustic furniture decor company located in the West Kootenai, in the far northwestern corner of Montana. All logs are harvested from dead-standing lodgepole pine. Select items are from cedar and hickory. Dried by the forces of nature, there is no moisture in the logs. The rustic quality of the cracks, or checking, adds character to the simple beauty of the log. In true handcrafted fashion, draw knives are used to hand peel the bark from the logs. The skip-peel procedure leaves just enough color from the inner bark to give the appearance of natural texture and color contrast, giving each piece that rustic furniture appeal. One assembly technique used in making the rustic log furniture is mortise and tenon joinery, known for its strength and heirloom quality craftsmanship. All rustic furniture items are meticulously handcrafted, from peeling the lodgepole pine logs, to assembling the products. With over 650 products available, Montana Woodworks® is the single largest and most trusted manufacturer of handcrafted rustic furnishings in the nation. We have 225 products online to choose from at this time. Our shopping site is fully secured so you can shop with peace of mind. Bring a piece of Montana's renewable resource home today, environmentally friendly log furniture for the home and garden. Woodsmen harvest the standing dead lodge pole pine from the forest. Only the trees that are naturally dried by nature are used. Cracks, or checking in the logs are from drying, and add character to the log. The skip peel process, done by hand with draw knives, gives our log furniture color contrast and texture. There is added cost for clean peeled logs. Choose between natural (no lacquer) or clear lacquer finish. Click on one of the category links above to start your shopping experience. Have something a little different in mind?
