Since 1989 our many loyal customers have known us as Mimi The Sardine. We started in San Francisco, CA, on Pia Anderson’s kitchen table with a single Bernina sewing machine and a dream. After the birth of her first daughter, Pia (a native of Stockholm, Sweden) combed the country for spill-proof, non-toxic, quality baby products—hoping to find an easy-care fabric like the ones she loved and trusted back home—but she couldn’t find them!

So she decided to make her own.

With a passion for sewing and the determination to make an easy-care for bib for her newborn babe, she imported a few yards of fabric and went to work. Well… one bib for her daughter led to a thousand more for her first retail order and in a few short months Mimi the Sardine was born.

Fast forward to today.

Pia’s daughter, Lisa, is all grown up—and alongside her, so is Mimi the Sardine. We’ve evolved from offering fun, functional, high-quality products for your kids to a more sophisticated (but still fun & functional) line of products for you.

Today, Mimi Home proudly offers a constantly growing line of fashionable, spill-proof table linens & kitchen accessories that we hope you’ll love as much as we do.
