MIDE Products’ story is simple and not unlike many other new companies. Started by a brother and sister to develop a product that one of them wanted and was not available anywhere. Debbie, the sister, had just installed a pool with an expensive vinyl fence enclosing it. She wanted to hang different items on the fence, but insisted on not putting any holes it. After searching high and low with no luck, they enlisted a friend to design a “hook” that could slip-on the top of the fence and hold a variety items. After a couple of attempts, the final version of their new Pool Accessory Hook was born. And as they say, the rest is history. Well, not really. Although having just the one great product and really just a hobby in 2008, Debbie and her brother Mike decided to give the business world a try. Even as both worked other full-time jobs, within 9 months the company had outgrown Debbie’s basement and garage. This forced them to re-locate to their current, much larger facility in Elkhart, IN. With tremendous help from family and friends to keep up with demand, the company has been able to grow consistently year over year.
