These steps have allowed them to minimized transportation costs and insured greater control over the quality of their end product.
Company Profile Request update info.
Appalachian Flooring ltd. Is one of the premier hardwood flooring manufacturers in Canada.
Appalachian Flooring was founded in 2000 with a mission: to produce the finest hardwood floors and provide the best customer service in the industry.
The plant started producing solid unfinished hardwood flooring in 2001 and rapidly gained a following in the industry thanks to the quality of the products and the can-do attitude of the staff.
The early 2000s saw the rise of prefinished hardwood flooring. More and more consumers demanded increasingly complex colors and an easy installation method with no dust or chemicals being applied in the home. This motivated Appalachian Flooring’s investment in a state-of-the-art pre-finishing line. Appalachian Flooring started prefinished flooring production in 2004 and emerged as a market leader in pre-finishing technology with the launch of their EvershineTM finish in 2006. Incorporating one of the highest concentrations of aluminum oxide nano-particles in the topcoat and a unique no VOC added production process, EvershineTM delivers a commercial grade wear resistance to residential customers.
Vertical integration is a key part of the Appalachian credo as it permits the company to have greater control over the quality of the finished product. With this spirit in mind, construction of a kiln drying complex was accomplished in 2007. Having onsite kilns brought greater control of the manufacturing process but also cut down on the production process’ greenhouse gas emissions through decreasing extraneous transportation.
In order to increase production capacity and consistency of the finished product Appalachian Flooring made significant improvements to the main manufacturing facility in 2009-2010. A state of the art scanner optimizer as well as an automated chop-saw system was integrated into the production line. This resulted in better average lengths and greater grading consistency throughout our product lines.
In 2012 Appalachian Engineered Flooring ltd. opened its doors in North Troy, Vermont. This facility is dedicated to the production of unfinished hardwood flooring for site finishing as well as to the production of micro-beveled hardwood flooring for pre-finishing in our Cowansville facility.
As time goes on Appalachian Flooring will continue to invest and grow following the central principles that it was founded on: Customer service & quality products.
